The ALAN workshop began Sunday evening with a welcome reception at the Marriott River Center Hotel situated perfectly on the River Walk of San Antonio, TX.  Authors, publishers, teachers, and librarians had an opportunity to talk about reading, comedy, tragedy and life.  ALAN would like to thank this year’s reception coordinator, Jason Wells of Abrams Books for Young Readers and Amulet Books for orchestrating a wonderful reception.  Additionally, ALAN would like to thank the following publishers for generously supporting this evening’s festivities.
