It gives me great pleasure to announce that Naomi Shihab Nye, award
winning poet, author, and editor, is the winner of this year’s ALAN
Award. ALAN (The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of the National
Council of Teachers of English) gives out this award each year to an
individual who has made significant contributions to the field of young
adult literature.
Naomi will accept this award at the ALAN Breakfast, which will take
place during the National Council of Teachers of English Conference in
Philadelphia on Saturday, November 21, 2009. If you would like to
